DIY Shabbat is Brown RISD Hillel’s Shabbat initiative where students host and attend intimate Shabbat dinners around campus: in apartments, dorms or outside.
We provide each Shabbat dinner with spiritual and physical nourishment: a delicious meal, conversation prompts about Judaism and Shabbat, and an introduction to Shabbat rituals. Swing by our Hillel building on Friday mornings to pick up grape juice, challah, and Shabbat candles!
Our first DIY Shabbat of the summer semester is on Friday 5/14 and you can sign up to participate HERE. (form will re-open on 5/9)
